Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions to help you navigate the admission and enrollment process.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\">What is a charter school?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>A charter school is a public school that is tuition-free and open to all students who meet state eligibility requirements. Like traditional public schools, charter schools are funded by the state and must follow state education laws. Thrive Center for Success is unique because we focus exclusively on students with autism and integrate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autismspeaks.org\/applied-behavior-analysis\">Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)<\/a> with academics.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\">Does Thrive charge tuition?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>No. Thrive Center for Success is a tuition-free public charter school. There are no fees to apply, enroll, or attend.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\">Who can apply to Thrive?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Thrive accepts<a href=\"http:\/\/apply.avela.org\/thrivesuccess\"> applications<\/a> from families of children in grades Kindergarten through 9th. Students must meet Texas age eligibility requirements: a child must be five years old on or before September 1st to begin Kindergarten.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\">What is the difference between admission and enrollment?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>Admission Application:<\/b> Families complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/apply.avela.org\/thrivesuccess\">Charter Student Admission Application<\/a> (CSAA) during the open application period.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Enrollment:<\/b> After a student is offered and accepts a seat, families submit additional documents (health records, academic records, proof of residency, etc.).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\">How does the lottery work?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>If the number of applications exceeds available seats, Thrive conducts a public lottery as required by Texas law. The 2026-2027 lottery will take place on <strong>February 6, 2026.<\/strong> Students not selected will be placed on a waitlist in the order drawn.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-5\">How do I choose a grade level when applying?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-5\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-5\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">If your child is enrolled in a public or private school \u2192 mark the grade they will be in for the upcoming school year.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">If homeschooled or in an ABA clinic \u2192 select the grade that best matches their chronological age and skill level.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">For children born between April-August \u2192 parents may choose either the age-appropriate grade or one grade lower.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Note:<\/b> Thrive cannot request IEPs, health, or academic records during the application phase.
